The calculator

Everything you type into the calculators (prices, costs, weights) is processed in your browser. It isn't sent to us or stored on a server, and we don't use cookies for it.

Email sign-ups

If you sign up for the cheat sheet or the launch notice, we store:

• your email address,
• which form you used and the page it was on (for example “home”),
• the date and time you signed up,
• a short one-way hash of your browser's user-agent string (to spot bot sign-ups; it can't be turned back into the original).

We don't store your IP address with your sign-up. To limit abuse, the sign-up endpoint keeps a counter keyed by a salted, one-way hash of your IP address and the current day; these counters are deleted automatically after two days.

Sign-ups are stored in a database run by Cloudflare (Cloudflare D1), our hosting provider. We use your email only to send what you asked for and occasional related updates. We don't sell or rent email addresses.

Analytics

We may use privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics) to count page views. It doesn't track you across sites or build a profile of you. (Analytics are not enabled yet.)

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against abuse.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from any email we send, or ask us to delete your email address and sign-up record by writing to [email protected]. We'll delete it and confirm.
